I Asked God.....BUT God said NO!

I asked God to grant me patience......God said NO!
Patience is a byproduct of troubles; it isn't granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness.......God said NO!
I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.....God said NO!
Suffering draws you away from secondary cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.....God said NO!
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitfull.

I asked God to give me everything I needed to enjoy life......God said NO!
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me love people, as much as God loves me.
God said, ....."Ahhhhh, finally you have the idea.

I sometimes run into an attitude of entitlement with some Christians who feel that because they are "saved" or "born again" that God is now somehow required to "make" them happy, fix their broken relationships, or perform other "feats of greatness" in their lives.

It's a stark contrast to the spiritual life Jesus lived. He expected very little from his Father, and concentrated his life on serving people, often at a great personal inconvenience.

I see a life that lives to give, rather than the demanding, customer service oriented Christian life lived by some.

I'm not here to be "served" by Christ......I'm here to be a servant, to serve the Lord and people.

Maybe I finally "have the idea."

Has Anyone Ever Tried to "SAVE" You?

Ever had this experience?

A stranger approaches you and asks if they can have a few minutes of your time. You say Yes, sure.

Then what happens?

Let me know how the experience went, what it was like, and what the outcome was. I'm curious. Thanks.

Peace of Mind!

So that's what everyone else sees!

The rumble of the V-twin on my Honda VLX 600 somehow thrills me. With a twist of the throttle, I know a great adventure is waiting.

It's my way of answering "The Call of The Wild." It's why little boys wear Batman capes, play Cowboys and Indians, and dream of excellent adventures in distant lands far, far away.

This is how I get away, de-stress, think and sometimes pray....alone, on my V-twin cruiser.

She's my "Big-Boy-Batman Cape", an exciting adventure that God and I go on as often as I turn the key.

I can almost fly! Let's ride!
